I am a Northwest native, growing up and living in towns all over Oregon and Washington, and graduating from Seattle Pacific University (SPU). God got a hold of me while at SPU and that is when I sensed at call to ministry. I attended Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, CA, and have been a pastor ever since. I came to CPC in 2019 to serve as the Interim Associate Pastor for Adult Ministries.
I have loved being part of the ministry here at CPC. The people, the energy, the collegial staff, and the focus on Jesus as Lord has all made this a special place. I love that we take Jesus seriously, but not ourselves. We are just one part of the body of Christ. We are an important part, but the gospel goes forward regardless.
My role at CPC is to oversee the discipleship area of the church. My hope and prayer is that we can grow in our faith as we learn what it means to live the life of Christ together, while we serve and engage the world with the message of Jesus.
My wife, Mary, works at George Fox University and we have 2 adult children, Elizabeth and Michael. Michael is married to Kylee, and at this writing, we have a granddaughter on the way. Mary and I enjoy morning walks, family trips, bicycling, meals with family and friends, good conversation, and the occasional traveling adventure.
