Care Ministries

Care that meets you where you are.

Life brings seasons of joy, challenge, and loss. Our Care Ministries are here to walk with you through each one. From the quiet support of a phone call to structured programs of care, we believe no one should have to navigate life alone.

Deacons

CARING FOR THE BODY OF CHRIST IN EVERYDAY WAYS.

The Board of Deacons serves under the guidance of co-moderators, a secretary/treasurer, and a pastor. The group meets monthly for prayer, devotion, and ministry planning, and also gathers annually for a one-day retreat.

The Deacons serve through three main areas of ministry. Hospitality & Mercy includes welcoming, memorial support, prayer shawls, care partners, and encouragement for older adults. Service involves Helping Hands projects, seasonal outreach, drives, and partnerships with schools and churches. In Communion, Deacons prepare and set up for worship, coordinate servers, and provide home communion.

How We Help

Walking with you through health, hardship, and healing

HEALTH MINISTRY TEAM

The Health Ministry Team cares for the congregation through the integration of body, mind, and spirit.

Current Projects Include:

  • Mental Health First Aid classes for adults and youth
  • WeCare check-ins with homebound congregants
  • Nutrition classes for parents at Circle of Friends Preschool
  • An annual fall Health Fair with resources and education
  • One-time education classes as needs arise
  • Guidance and referrals to community health resources

STEPHEN MINISTRY

Stephen Ministry supplements pastoral care by training laypeople to walk alongside those experiencing hardship, grief, or other life struggles. Care is confidential, one-on-one, and often long-term. Men and women are available to meet weekly with those who need support.

If you’d like to learn more about becoming a Stephen Minister or receiving care, please contact the church office.

GRIEFSHARE

GriefShare is a 13-week support group that helps those experiencing loss find comfort, understanding, and practical ways to navigate grief. Each session offers tools for coping and a safe community of support.

We typically offer two groups each year – one daytime group and one evening group.

You can visit our Events page to find the next session.
